A pale beach curves alongside a deep blue sea in “Dybbøl Strand” by Stine Maj. The shoreline guides the eye from the foreground towards a dark headland on the right, where slender trees stand against the sky. Above the low horizon, white, delicate pink and peach bands spread across a soft, open expanse.
Long horizontal brushstrokes shift between dark blue, blue-grey and lighter tones near the shore. Cream and sandy areas on the beach are interrupted by brown, grey and almost black shapes suggesting stones and uneven ground. More pronounced textures along the right edge contrast with the calm areas of sea and sky.
The title connects the scene to Dybbøl Strand, while the free handling of paint makes colour and brushmarks a visible part of the landscape. The square 80 × 80 cm format balances the open view with the diagonal shoreline and dark silhouettes of the trees. A restrained coastal scene contrasting pale sand, cool water and warm tones in the sky.
