A calm stretch of blue-grey water lies between low landscape forms in “Bagges dæmning” by Stine Maj. On the left, dark, almost black passages gather beneath dusty pink and grey areas, while the right opens into warmer peach and terracotta tones. A broad, pale sky creates space above the low horizon.
In the foreground, sweeping strokes of cream, sand, pink and white meet cool blue-grey shadows. Broken fields of colour suggest uneven ground beside the water without defining every detail. The water’s long horizontal strokes contrast with the foreground’s more angular, shifting shapes.
The title connects the scene to Bagges dæmning, while the free handling of paint allows the landscape to move between recognisable forms and abstraction. The restrained palette gives the painting calm, with darker areas adding depth. The square 60 × 60 cm format brings sky, water and shore together in a balanced composition.
