Pale mint-green, cream and blue-toned fields meet deep forest green, brown and charcoal-grey passages in “Mintpastillen II” by Randi Rosa. The upper left opens into soft, airy layers of colour, while denser dark forms gather along the right side and across the lower half. Golden details and small turquoise accents brighten the earth tones.
Granular textures, small angular impressions and fine lines create a varied surface. Brown drips descend from several of the dark areas, while broad green and white strokes move across the lower part of the painting. The abstract subject may evoke moss, damp earth and light finding its way through a dense landscape.
Randi Rosa accompanies the work with a story about a mint sweet whose “plop” ensures that the coffee is no longer confined to the cup. Whether it is an accident or a planned escape remains uncertain, but soon moss grows on the coffee stains, gold spreads, and small miracles appear. The local council abandons its plans to clean up when it discovers that the mint has already declared the area a nature reserve. The story gives the green, brown and golden colours a humorous connection to a small mishap that takes on a life of its own.

- Original acrylic painting on canvas by Randi Rosa.
- Painted black on the edges, and looks perfect without frame.
- "Plop! … og kaffen var ikke kun i koppen. Nogle siger, det var et uheld. Andre mener, at mintpastillen længe havde planlagt sin flugt. Under alle omstændigheder begyndte der at vokse mos på kaffepletterne, guldet bredte sig uden tilladelse, og små mirakler dukkede op de mest utrolige steder. Kommunen overvejede at tørre det hele op, men opgav, da de opdagede, at området allerede var blevet erklæret naturreservat af mintpastillen." Randi Rosa
