Golden evening light spreads across the shore and sea in “A colorful evening” by Mantas Naulickas. The sun’s luminous glow near the horizon reflects on the water and wet sand, while pink and lavender-grey clouds float against a blue-violet sky.
On the right, small dunes rise beneath vivid yellow-green clumps of grass. Cool blue shadows follow the soft shapes of the sand, contrasting with the sunlit blades. The beach’s curved sweep leads the eye from the foreground towards the distant coast, while fine horizontal brushstrokes capture the gentle movement of the sea.
Mantas Naulickas describes the evening as colourful notes that illuminate the dunes and play a tango. This poetic idea is echoed in the meeting of the sky’s soft tones and the grasses’ vivid colours. The wide 120 × 60 cm format opens the view and gives the light room to fill the scene.
