A colourful sky stretches above a turquoise sea in “Magic sky” by Mantas Naulickas. Golden yellow, peach and pink brushstrokes meet cooler bands of blue and lavender. The elongated clouds create a horizontal rhythm that continues in the bright reflections across the water.
In the foreground, dense clumps of grass bend over pale sand. Fine blades in green, ochre and rust suggest wind, contrasting with the sky’s broad brushwork. The diagonal sweep of the beach leads the eye through the vegetation towards the open sea.
Mantas Naulickas connects the work with the idea of a sky where every wish has its own colour. This lends a poetic dimension to the painting’s vivid palette. The wide 120 × 80 cm format gives space to both the grasses’ delicate details and the expansive view of sea and sky.
