Tall spires and closely layered façades rise against a vivid blue sky in “Symphony of Aarhus” by Sergei Inkatov. A large tower with a slender, dark spire stands at the centre, while a green dome on the left and smaller spires further back create a varied skyline. Green, grey and brown buildings are punctuated by glowing orange and golden roofs.
Fine lines define windows, cornices and arched openings among broad, textured fields of colour. The façades overlap and tilt in different directions, giving the town a densely composed sense of movement. Above the rooftops, pale turquoise and white strokes cross the deep blue sky.
The title connects the scene to Aarhus and invites the viewer to experience its towers, roofs and rows of windows as a visual rhythm. The vertical 70 × 80 cm format emphasises the height of the spires, guiding the eye from the nearby façades towards the sky. An expressive cityscape with contrasts between cool shadows and warm flashes of colour.
