Pale trunks and fine branches stretch through a colourful woodland scene in “Freedom” by Malgorzata Alicja Pedersen. Blue tones open spaces between the trees, while yellow-green areas brighten the centre. Orange, ochre and rusty red accents bring warmth and lively contrast to the scene.
Vertical brushstrokes create a rhythm of closely spaced trees, interrupted by small horizontal marks of colour in the lower part of the painting. White and dark markings on the trunks may suggest birch bark. The woodland shifts between recognisable details and freely painted abstract areas, drawing the eye both into the spaces between the trees and across the surface.
Together with the title, the light-filled openings may evoke a sense of freedom and room to breathe. The wide 80 × 60 cm format emphasises the woodland’s breadth and the interplay between slender trunks and bold colours.
