An intense yellow and ochre passage emerges among cool grey, blue and mint strokes in “Morning of Tomorrow” by Sergei Inkatov. In the upper right, orange, red and turquoise fields gather in a narrow, angular form. Towards the left, white and pale blue-green movements spread out, creating a luminous counterbalance to the deep, near-black areas.
Broad brushstrokes bend and turn through the composition, leaving distinct grooves in the paint. Around the yellow passage, the marks become denser and more angular, while broken white strokes travel diagonally through the centre and downwards. The surface alternates between large, continuous strokes and small fields of colour crossed by fine dark lines.
The title may invite the viewer to experience the warm colours as light beginning to break through. The subject remains abstract, its atmosphere arising from the tension between lighter passages and dark, enclosing movements. The horizontal 80 × 60 cm format gives the eye room to follow the curves around the warm centre of colour.
