A tall, deep-blue headdress bearing a golden snake crowns the portrait in “The Timeless She” by Lin Jürs. A band of green and burgundy panels crosses the blue, while the snake creates a striking focal point above the face. The vivid colours stand out against a golden background filled with rows of hieroglyph-like signs.
The face is constructed from angular areas of brown, black, cream and reddish tones. A large eye outlined in blue, a golden spiral on the cheek and bright pink lips give the figure a distinctive expression. A small blue-green, beetle-like motif on the other side of the face adds another detail to the painting’s symbolic visual language.
The headdress, snake and background signs may evoke ancient Egypt, while the geometric facial features give the portrait a contemporary expression. The title invites thoughts about identity and presence across time. The 70 × 90 cm format emphasises the figure’s long neck and towering headdress.
