Pale mint-green, turquoise and cream layers open above warm brown and golden textures in “Mintpastillen I” by Randi Rosa. Dark earth tones gather along the left side and lower edge, while a broad, pale field fills much of the upper half. Vivid turquoise strokes near the bottom offer a cool counterpoint to the rusty brown and ochre areas.
Vertical, broken brushmarks meet horizontal layers of colour and fine drip lines. Granular details and small angular impressions create denser textures between the airier fields. The composition may evoke rocks, water and light in a misty landscape, while the subject remains abstract.
Randi Rosa accompanies the work with a story about a mint sweet whose “plop” sends the coffee beyond the cup. Nobody knows whether it is an accident or a planned escape, but soon moss grows on the coffee stains, gold spreads, and small miracles appear. The local council abandons its plans to clean up when it discovers that the mint has already declared the area a nature reserve. The story gives the fresh colours and earthy textures a humorous connection to a small moment of chaos that becomes a world of its own.

- Original acrylic painting on canvas by Randi Rosa.
- Painted black on the edges, and looks perfect without frame.
- "Plop! … og kaffen var ikke kun i koppen. Nogle siger, det var et uheld. Andre mener, at mintpastillen længe havde planlagt sin flugt. Under alle omstændigheder begyndte der at vokse mos på kaffepletterne, guldet bredte sig uden tilladelse, og små mirakler dukkede op de mest utrolige steder. Kommunen overvejede at tørre det hele op, men opgav, da de opdagede, at området allerede var blevet erklæret naturreservat af mintpastillen." Randi Rosa
